A strategic shift

We launched the Hampshire project in August 2008 with a plan to recruit pharmacists within the Hampshire, Southampton and Portsmouth Primary Care Trusts to join the project. Four years on, we have achieved some of our aims but failed in others. Nonetheless, we will be announcing a strategic shift in direction in March which will coincide with the launch of our new website.

We will be glad if you can join us in the new chapter of the bookapharmacist project.

We are now on Twitter

Bookapharmacist.com now has a Twitter hub at www.twitter.com/bookapharmacist. This now represents another way of using technology to get our project objectives across.

About Twitter:

Twitter is a microblogging site and is classified as a Social Media application for connecting with people. It is based around tweets and Kazeem Olalekan (CEO Iforg Limited), in one of his tweets (@Iforg) described Twitter as congealing "The statements of wiseness into 140 characters". You can follow us @bookapharmacist where we hope to communicate our statements of wiseness about the important roles pharmacists have to play in delivering quality care to their patients and other healthcare professionals.

Please stay tuned.

Minor Redesign

You will see that the bookapharmacist.com website has undergone a minor facelift. This reflects our efforts to make the site more accessible and 'nice' for users of the site. We are now on the latest version of Wordpress 2.8. Matt and the rest of the team at Wordpress are doing a great job. Not to forget the Wordpress community of cause. We have also implemented the latest update of the Thesis theme v 1.5.1. Well done Chris (link).

We have implemented Snap Shot (link) to ease the navigation experience on our site.

Hope you like it.

Pharmacy Passion Competiton

We are happy to inform you that we are putting our full weight behind the Pharmacy Passion Competition being organised by Pharmangelist Limited. Bookapharmacist.com will put up the cash for the prizes and facilitate the judging process.

This is of strategic importance to us because, we believe that pharmacists who are passionate about their profession are invaluable. We also hope that these pharmacists will choose to work for a locum agency, like ours, which offers support for their pharmacists.

We encourage all Pre-registration Pharmacy and Final year Pharmacy students in the UK to take part in this unique competition. Details available here.
